Indonesia Aid is proud to share that recently we have added several new Kid's Clubs on two different lslands.
Project Legacy Kid's Club officially opened in Surabaya, Java last month and is currenty serving in two local communities.
Project Legacy Kid's Club in Palu, Sulawesi has added its fourth & fifth locations this month and one of the new locations is in the city's trash dump.
Our Project Legacy Kid's Club programs & Learning Centers provide educational programs, after school activities, tutoring and scholarships to over 200 children each week.
We are also excited to have the funds and support to host eleven Kid's Club Christmas parties on three seperate islands leading up to Christmas. Most of the children have never expereinced a Christmas celebration and our dedicated staff is busy finsishing up all the final details.
Additionally, as part of our encouragement programs, the children are making christmas cards for two local prisons here in Bali. We did this on a very small scale last year only delivering a handful of Christmas cards to one prison. The inmates who received the cards last year are already asking about cards this year and asked if we can provide one card to each inmate here in Bali. We will do our best to meet that request.
Happy Thanksgiving from your friends at Indonesia Aid. Bali, Indonesia.
Thanks to your genorisity and continued support we are happy to report that our newest Kid's Club facility on the island of Java has been renovated and ready to receive children. It is in the town of Surabaya. It has been a difficult year so far trying to get to this point. Indonesia has experienced several "lock down" and highly restricted travel between islands at time in an effort to control the spread of the coronavirus.
A few weeks ago two of our staff traveled from Bali to Surabaya and spent two weeks living at the facility in an effor to complete all of the renovations as quickly as possible. We are pleased to report all repairs/renovations are complete. Staff has been hired and we are in the process of setting up the classrooms and completing goverment protocols. Estimates are anywhre from twenty to thirty children will be attending our Kid's Club activities once the current "lock down" is lifted and the government allows schools to open back up.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our donors again for supporting our education and scholarship programs. We will continue to seek additional opportunities on neighboring islands.

Thanks to your support and donations, Kid's Club in Nusa Dua specifically is starting to take shape and look like a school and classroom. Although due to COVID, we've not been allowed to resume activities since the first of the year. The down-time has allowed us to prepare fully to resume. Since launching this campaign and the closing due to COVID, we've been able to finish painting the interior walls and ceiling. The front exterior wall has also been painted. Due to an unusually wet rainy season, the roof was leaking terribly in the classroom. The tin roof on the classroom portion of the building has now been replaced. Also, a local artist painted a fun, beautiful mural for the Kid's Club which has really added to the feel and look of it being a children's school. Colorful tables and chairs were ordered and have been delivered. Shelving and much needed supplies are now all stocked up! The kids love everything and are excited in knowing this was done all for them!!!
Since the first of the year, our staff have been receiving messages from the kids telling them how much they missed them and want to start Kid's Club again. Thankfully, within the past 2 weeks, we have been allowed to resume daily activities once again. The classroom is now buzzing with excitement to learn, study and play games.
Our plans now are to begin to shift to the newest Kid's Club location on a neighboring island, Surabaya. We have started the process of getting quotes for much needed repairs for the facility that has been donated to us and interviewing potential volunteers and staff.
None of this would have been possible without your support and recognizing and responding to the value of education for the underprivileged children and youth of Indonesia.
