Clean water is becoming a reality for families in the Andes mountains of Peru! During the first week of April, we embarked on installing a test system for bringing clean water directly to peoples' homes! With help from Path of the Heart, we installed water tanks to collect mountain stream water for ten families in one of the communities of Patacancha. Residents contributed their labor and dug trenches so that we could install piping from the water source directly to their homes. Normally, the families in these communities walk over 1/2 hour each way to get water, which they bring home in jugs. Now the water is brought directy to their homes! We installed high level microbial filters at each house so that disease causing giardia, ecoli and salmonella are filtered out and residents have pure potable water! Now that the system has been tested, we have plans to install this type of filtration to hundreds more communities in the Andes Mountains of Peru. We need your CONTINUED SUPPORT to acheive this goal!
