The Program guarantees medical care and accompanies throughout the process of the disease to children of poor resources in Peru, with chronic diseases providing: transportation, stay, support for diagnosis and management of medical care.
There is limited resolving capacity in health services in rural Peru, which do not allow chronic diseases to receive specialized medical treatment; forcing the families of scarce resources to transfer them urgently to the city of Lima to avoid the deterioration of their health; the health insurance does not cover transfers, stay of the child or caregiver. The project supports, accompanies the child and his caregiver during the process until the control of the disease.
It will be improved as follows: We manage the attention in the main Institutes of Health of Lima. We ensure the transfer, accommodation and food for the child and a relative. We assist in the medical services that Integral Health Insurance does not provide (exams, procedures and medicine) We guarantee accompaniment and support to the patient and his family at all times.
The program will assist 50 children with chronic problems that improve their health, reintegrate them into their school and family dynamics.
