Thankful Reflection
Progeny is an enormous endeavor both figuratively and literally. The total weight of the assembled structure is near 16,000 pounds, and the disassembled structure requires a minimum storage space of 1200 square feet. Each 4’X8’ of the 60 wall sections weighs 120 pounds. I mention these statistics to emphasize how grateful we are for our volunteers that have helped move Progeny several times, both to exhibition spaces and storage spaces. Beyond this intense volunteer dedication to our vision, we would like to thank Tropical Blossom Honey for free storage of Progeny (in its entirety) in their Warehouse.
These in-kind donations of labor and storage space allow Progeny to make your monetary support through Global Giving go much further than if we did not have these great contributors. We are grateful to all of you and your contributions that have made the continuation of Progeny possible.
Moving Forward
We are currently searching for Progeny’s next exhibition venue, actively researching leads in Brooklyn, New York and in Gainesville, Florida. The show proposal for Gainesville is for the Harn Museum at the University of Florida in concordance with the new University of Florida Honey Bee and Extension Lab. Pairing Progeny with the Bee Lab would prove a provocative collaboration between visual art, sound and environmental science.
We will keep all of you, our supporters through GlobalGiving, informed as to the progression of our research and upcoming installations and events.
We are both grateful for the support each donor has given to our project, enabling us to produce the work and to undertake two exhibitions. We are also very appreciative to those who continue to contribute regularly. We believe our unique sound installation is an inspiring space for public interaction, artistic collaboration, and education. We would be very grateful if you can let others know about our work and/or if you are able to contribute in any way.
Thank you for your continued support.
We wish you our very best,
Bryce and Luke
