Hello,
Pet over-population is a chronic, serious issue in the Western Cape, South Africa, in particular our informal settlements. Lack of resources and owner reluctance and ignorance has resulted in uncontrolled over-breeding and an avoidable increase of disease, neglect and often abuse of animals in these areas.
Sterilisation is one of our Society’s main strategies to help alleviate the animal suffering that occurs as a direct result of pet overpopulation. By sterilising just one male and one female dog, more than 67,000 births can be prevented in just 6 years!
Your support has contributed to the 3734 sterilisations performed at our hospital during 2022. Thank you for donating to this project!
I hope we can count on your continued support as we work to fulfil our mission of preventing cruelty to ALL animals. Rest assured that no matter what financial and operational complexities the year has in store, the animals’ welfare always comes first at the SPCA.
We know that with you by our side, we will continue to make an impact on the animals we serve.
Best wishes,
