Thank for your support in the 2016!
By Matias Trujillo | Fundraising - Todo Mejora
Hello everybody!
First of all Happy 2017!
Last year was intense for Todo Mejora, and your help was crucial. Thank you.
Here are key highlights of how we invested your support to save lives.
- Todo Mejora co-led a regional project in 7 countries in the Latin America that successfully gathered first time data on the life experiences of LGBT students. All countries report that nearly 100% of LGBT students hear LGBT-phobic remarks in schools. In Brazil, Todo Mejora presented findings in the Human Rights Commission of both the Senate and the House of Representatives.
- With you support, Todo Mejora provided fundamental data and life stories for legal testimony in policy debates to ensure the inclusion of Trans kids in the National Law to Protect Children’s Rights.
- More than 1500 education and health professional were trained by the Foundation during the year. Todo Mejora is especially proud of helping the most emblematic girls school in the nation.
- The Foundation's’ LifeLine, HORA SEGURA, now provides more than 3 times the support it at the beginning of 2016. Because of you, Todo Majora's free and confidential online support to children & families suffering due to the discrimination.
- The lives of all of Chile’s Trans children got better. Todo Mejora helped develop guidelines and support materials for the Ministry of Education, ensuring that every teacher had tools to provide critical help when needed.
We have been able to do this with YOUR support. Your donations, emails and great vibes are always with us!
Thank you for a great 2016!
Thank you for your commitment and your strength always!
Until the next report!!

Now more than ever... LGBT students need You
By Andrea Infante | Education Coordinator
In August 2016 Todo Mejora leaded and coordinated the first National School Climate Survey in Argentina, Colombia, Brasil, Uruguay, México, Perú and Chile, answered by students from 13 to 21 years of age.
The results of Chile are shocking:
- 7 out of 10 students report feeling insecure their schools
- Nearly 100% of them hear LGBTI-phobic comments
- 60% of those comments come from teachers and school personnel
- 2 out of 3 students do not know if there is a protocol to report violence due to sexual orientation and gender identity
Now, more than ever, we HAVE to keep working hard in order to protect our LGBT youth.
With these results, and in only a few weeks, we were able to:
- Actively influence the National Law to Protect Children´s Rights, incorporating the concept of Gender Identity.
- Worked as the technical organization with the Ministry of Education to launch a specific law which protects trans students in the school setting.
- Partnered with the Ministry of Education to keep on advocating for LGBT student´s rights.
We now KNOW how students feel and what their experiences are, we just need to keep on WORKING.

Capacity building NOW!
By Andrea Infante | Education Coordinator
Hello all!
Thank you for your donations and constant support! We are now training more than 100 teacher on language use, sexual identity, stereotypes, homophobic and transphibic bullying, and last but not least, HOW TO FIGHT DISCRIMINATION AND BULLYING IN THEIR SCHOOLS!
For this we are in URGENT need of more material. Teachers are eager to start visualizing the issue of LGBT students, and how discrimination is leading them to suicide.
- Posters, Safe Space Kits, Research information to put up in their school classes!
- Schools are eager to be trained by our professionals and are having more and more needs to support their students!
- Our country is long, very long, and we need to reach every teacher, student and family in the remote areas, north to south. These places are in extreme need, have great demands, and we are not able to reach them.
We will soon be posting a new project and new challenges!
Thank you ALL!
