The cycle of violence in which many women grow up prevents them from living fully, normalizes harmful behaviors and subjects them to constant insecurity. Its impact is immediate and far-reaching, including multiple physical, sexual, psychological, and even lethal consequences; it negatively affects women's well-being and prevents their full participation in society.
In Ecuador, 7 out of 10 women have experienced some type of violence throughout their lives. Today more than ever, women and their families need adequate access to justice, the elimination of impunity, the restitution and reparation of their rights and, above all, to empower and support women to regain their dignity and value and to be the protagonists of their own development.
We educate and accompany women so that they can break circles of violence and become the protagonists of their own change. Our program includes personal training meetings, home visits, follow-up of cases of violence and referral to specialized external services, recreational and cultural activities, and support for entrepreneurship and savings.
Violence against women is a structural problem, which is why we focus on comprehensive prevention from the home to build a violence-free society. In 2022, 100% of our women received personalized follow-up through home visits. Likewise, we empowered more than 72 enterprises, providing them with training, advice, technical assistance, scholarships and strengthening capital. Now, most of them study, work and are more concerned about their children's health and education.
