The "Solution" for the above title project "Preventive Initaitive Focusing Children from Risks" is as presented below:

Kabita is a success story, helped to draw a picture of the value of education. As she got opportunities, she developed self-learning organizing her time and helping younger children in their studies. It is a village based educational coaching class. Children learn to interact with friends and seniors. This increased interest in learning, developed school going behaviors. Indoor games, debates, art and self-development, health activities helped children to be in the place they must be.

The term "village-based educational coaching class" refers to a Community Learning Center (CLC) that is self-managed and operated by local residents. The role of Console Mission (or, Dilasha Aviyan) Nepal (CoMiNp) is to share ideas from a successful pilot project and provide guidance. The organization is currently focused on this initiative, particularly on the challenges of fund management with the support of beneficiaries. Currently, CoMiNp is dedicated to one CLC named Ghongwa Our Study Place, or "hamro padhnae thau" as written in the door in Nepali in photo, the local language. A room rented from a local named Yubraj, who is often away for work and whose child is cared for by their grandmother, serves as the meeting place. Here, Yubraj's son, a fourth-grader, and 28 other children gather daily for study sessions. An eighth-grade student volunteer, Mr. Bibek, plays a crucial role in running the center. Additionally, Kamala, who initiated this OSP, works at CoMiNp's office and frequently visits on weekends. Despite attending college in the mornings, Kamala works for CoMiNp three days a week. To strengthen Ghongwa Our Study Place, which has been operational for the last three months in the rented space (previously run in Kamala's house), the following activities have been organized:
  1. Interactions with the 21 families' adults/parents have been ongoing, including health checkups.
  2. Efforts continue to strengthen the bond between the school and parents, emphasizing the need for educational materials like school uniforms, which many parents in Ghongwa cannot afford. The children require two pairs of uniforms each.
  3. The Console Mission is also connecting with a local woman who is a Social teacher.
  4. Kamala has submitted a letter to the local government ward office in Chaughare, ward number 1, outlining a five-year plan and budget for running Our Study Place.
  5. Since Kamala took office in the second week of August 2024, we have initiated the activities planned in the booklet and are exploring possibilities in nine other villages.

Change:

The concept of a Village Improvement Committee has been introduced, and the team has worked on submitting a proposal to the local government in August 2024.

Looking forward:

  1. We aim to identify more villages, share the concept of the Village Improvement Committee or Village Development Committee,
  2. establish such committees,
  3. and submit proposals similar to the one presented to the ward for Ghongwa's Our Study Place on the third week of August 2024.

In conclusion, Console Mission, Nepal aims to establish peer group community learning centers in every village of the rural areas.
  • This initiative stems from the need to address school dropouts, particularly among girls like Kabita, who lack parental encouragement. After receiving support, Kabita made progress and positively influenced others in her village.
  • While a developing country may advance economically, without a strong foundation in "quality human resources," questions about sustainability arise.
  • The spread of COVID-19 has highlighted the dangers of ignorance, spreading fear worldwide.
  • To combat this fear, foster progress in village communities, improve quality of life, and overcome poverty, this initiative is crucial.
