In alliance with "Fundación Botín" from Spain, PROED has implemented a new program called "responsible Education Program", this program facilitates learning through art, music and foreign languages. We recieved a visit from Fundación Botin´s Program Coordinators in Spain this past semester.
As we showed them our work in Public Schools, they were also here to introduce us to their program " Observa - Acción" in English: observe - action program. This program consists in the much needed communication between teachers, where they observe their students in pairs (2 teachers paired together in their observation efforts).
The results are amazing because they talk about their students and their needs. This allowed us to introduce our Prevention line of action, where we very much needed to strengthen communication between parents, students and teachers in this early - stage prevention effort.
PROED and "Fundación Botín" are a perfect alliance in sharing their different approaches and education practices. This new observe - action program pilot will bring new results to the implementation of our prevention programs, in elementary schools and specially in middle schools, where consumption risks grow.
Communication is a key prevention factor, and PROED´s MEI is rooted upon communication between the members of our school community: parents, teachers and students.
