Prevention of Substance Abuse in Public Schools.

In alliance with CIDEQ we started the pilot for a program which will inmensely benefit our Prevention and Human Development Line of Action. The TEI program has the main objective of creating student connivance to prevent school violence and bullying between students. The program aims to create an inclusive, non violent school system, by promoting student relationships, making them see each other as peers. The school will undergo an important change after the three years of implementation go by. This change will be in the core beliefs the school has in promoting student gatherings and activities. These gatherings will be more frequent as the program advances and in each gathering subjects like bullying and violence prevention will be discussed at large. Parents will have their own workshops and activities so that they can prevent at home violence and out of school activities that concern them. This will have the outcome of a violence free community. 

In December 2024, we closed the year with this violence prevention program which supports our substance abuse prevention program in many important ways, such as enhancing communication skills between parents and students. Creating a clear communication system between all the school actors. (teachers, parents and students). Benefitting the whole community outside the school with a violence free community. 

The first school workshop was imparted by TEI with 6 mothers and 11 teachers in the state of Morelos, Mexico. It is our pilot program and we hope we can continue to expand this program to all of our 141 schools in 11 states of the Mexican Republic.
