During this period, we, HIMRIGHTS Makwanpur, Maiti Nepal, and Makwanpur Women’s Group organized a poetry competition against human trafficking in Manahari Rural Municipality in Makwanpur district, on child labor, child marriage and child trafficking at Sri Pashupatinath Secondary School. The competition was held between seven schools. The students beautifully articulated the poetry on issues of human trafficking, child labor, child marriage, child trafficking and gender violence. Ms. Sushma Praja was first prize winner from Rastriya Madhyamic Vidhyalaya, second was Ms. Krisha Lo Lama from Bhoj Siddha Madhyamic Vidhyalaya, third was Ms. Rasika Karki from Mahendra Kiran Madhayamic Vidhyala. Consolation prize winner was Ms. Rabina Khadka from Siddha Madhyamic Vidhyalaya. Ms. Sita Pulami Magar, vice-president of Manahari Rural Municipality, was the chief guest of the program, distributed the prizes to all the winners and thanked all the organizations for organizing this awareness poetry competition. She said that this type of program raise awareness on the heinous crimes as well as reach the larger masses, it has been effective and achievable. There is need for more programs to prevent these crimes and issues- human trafficking, child labor, child marriage and child trafficking.
