Sexual violence against children and adolescents is a growing reality in Latin America and the Caribbean, one that has increased with the recent Covid 19 pandemic. Claves has been working on its prevention through a methodology called "Empowering ourselves through play to cope with hard situations" for over twenty years and training educators in over 15 countries of Latin America. By collaborating with this project you can help prevent sexual violence towards children and teens in the region.

Claves has been working on its prevention through a methodology called "Empowering ourselves through play to cope with hard situations" for over twenty years and training educators in over 15 countries of Latin America. By collaborating with this project you can help prevent sexual violence towards children in the region.
Given the experience of Claves in the region and on the subject, we have understood that one effective way of preventing sexual violence toward children and teenagers is by working on protective factors. Through play, children and adolescents develop cognitive, affective and relational strengths in the face of sexual violence. The workshops provide a progressive approach to the subject in a positive way, using a toolbox of specially designed games.
This methodology will educate children directly, educators that work with them and trainers that can train other educators to apply the methodology with the groups of children or teenagers they work with. This methodology has already reached over 15 countries in Latin America and expects to grow so that prevention of sexual violence is spread all along the region.
