Giving Birth: Too dangerous!

By William Logai Ochieng | Executive director

Giving birth: most dangerous for an African mother
Giving birth: most dangerous for an African mother

Thanks for your long term support to stop Moms from Dying in childbirth.

The birth of a baby, which should be the joyous moment, too often produces anguish for the family in Omilling. Pregnancy and childbirth complexities are the principal cause of death for women in Magwi County. Besides mothers are key to the prosperity of their communities. Without them, the family cannot hope to thrive.

In South Sudan, one in 10 women dies each day in childbirth according to report issued by a ministry of health. In UK, is one in 8,000 according to UN statistic

High blood pressure and breech births are treatable in the USA, South Sudanese women are likely to die from them due to lack of access to quality healthcare and trained midwife. With no transport, this means their only option is to walk, often in the middle of labor, to get help.

Your continued recurring contributions and cash from other donors, we supplied the clinic with - two boxes birthing mats, three boxes cotton wool, one box syringes & needles. Mothers had given birth to six beautiful babies with your support. Thanks so much for your help!

We will be sending you a new field update after three months so that you get to know the impact your contributions.
