Dear friends,
We recently organised a parent-teacher meet and awareness program at the FFLV schools and invited the parents of our school girls hoping to involve them more into their daughters’ education.
Our previous experience with such meets was always average with a very few parents turning up. This is because there was is concept of education in these families. Therefore the parents seldom showed interest in their girl's education.
However, to everyone’s surprise, this year we saw a 400% higher number of parents attend the event compared to the previous year. Over a 1000 parents attended the meet compared to the 250 families last year.
We can see that the perception of society towards girl education is changing with every passing year. The parents are starting to take the education of their girls more seriously now.
We took this opportunity to create awareness against Child Marriage through a play performed by the girls of Sandipani Muni School. See below to watch the play.
