FFLV's Theory of Change

By Paridhi Sethi | Client Relationships

Here we are sharing with you, FFLV's Theory of Change:-

When Girls have access to clean water and nutritious food, and they understand their rights in relation to child marriage, education, abuse, violence and exploitation; they continue to attend the school. They continue with their education and avoid child marriage which improves their physical and mental health. This in turn, increases their confidence, inter-personal skills and English language skills and they complete school with literacy and numeracy skills. As a result of which, there examination results improve and they gain useful employability skills.

Therefore, these girls get employed and have strong voice in society. They have opportunities to reach their full potential in a safe environment.

Absolute Impact: - There is respect and equality for girls and women in Vrindavan- they are financially independent and can actively contribute and participate in society. This leads to a reduction in poverty and enhanced economic development in Vrindavan as a whole.

About Theory of Change - Theory of Change (ToC) is a specific type of methodology for planning, participation and evaluation that is used in the philanthropy, not-for-profit and government sectors to promote social change. It defines long-term goals and then maps backward to identify necessary preconditions.

ToC explains the process of change by outlining causal linkages in an initiative, i.e., its shorter-term, intermediate, and longer-term outcomes. The identified changes are mapped – as the “outcomes pathway” – showing each outcome in logical relationship to all the others, as well as chronological flow. The links between outcomes are explained by “rationales” or statements of why one outcome is thought to be a prerequisite for another. If the time is taken to document a Theory of Change during programme design, then this can be used to assist people in choosing activities and identification and mitigation of risks at an early stage. This therefore, in the long run, will lead into designing an M&E system to collect information on all the different aspects of their TOC, their evaluations and will not only tell them whether their programme was effective or not but also why.
