1 in 5 children in the world suffers sexual abuse. This alarming reality is even more devastating in rural areas of Colombia, where the lack of access to education and health services aggravates the suffering of these children and makes their pain even more invisible. Our project focuses on preventing sexual abuse in children and adolescents and providing comprehensive care to those who have survived this tragedy. We are dedicated to empowering parents, teachers and local leaders
In some rural areas of Medellin - Colombia, the normalization of child sexual abuse, isolation, and marginalization have left thousands of child victims in an alarming situation of vulnerability. The lack of basic services keeps this reality silent, fueled by fear. Therefore, we take on the challenge of breaking this cycle, bringing prevention, education, and protection to communities where children have been forgotten, so that no child grows up traumatized, without a voice or hope.
Our project seeks to implement a comprehensive approach that combines prevention, education and specialized care for survivors of abuse. By raising awareness and training community leaders, parents, teachers and children, we aim to break the cycle of silence that perpetuates abuse by providing the tools necessary to identify and prevent risk situations. But we don't stop there. We will establish accessible support networks in every community, ensuring that every survivor receives comprehensive.
We are transforming the lives of thousands of child victims in rural communities into safer and more protective environments. By raising awareness among parents, teachers, and local leaders, we are creating a culture of zero tolerance for abuse, where the community will be better equipped to identify, prevent, and report child sexual abuse. This will reduce the incidence of abuse in the future and promote greater trust in support institutions, enabling more children to survive.
