By Anna LeViere | Executive Director, Project Leader
Dear Friends and Supporters,
On our last update, we shared that Dr. Fofie is officially recovered and back practicing at the Wa Regional Hospital. We are now excited to report that we are currently working with Dr. Fofie to arrange the first shipment of supplies and equipment for the cervical cancer program! We are in the process of negotiating shipping costs and are excited to move forward with the establishment of the program!
In this shipment we will be able to include 25 standard Graves speculums and 5 Petterson speculums that were donated to the program as well as a combination of biopsy forceps, tenaculums and sponge forceps. We also expect that we will be able to send a diathermy machine, cryotherapy set with the accompanying cylinder and are very hopeful that we will also be able to include an autoclave!
We also wanted to let you know that the first GlobalGiving Bonus Day of the year is fast approaching! GlobalGiving will have $75,000 available in matching funds to match all donations made on Wednesday, March 16th, from 9am EDT until midnight! All online donations are eligible to be matched at a pro-rated percent- a percentage that will be determined at the end of the Bonus Day. This is an ideal time to donate as you're donation will be matched by GlobalGiving to make an even larger impact! We're excited to see what the percentage will be!
Thank you all for your continued support of this important and much needed program! As always we are open to comments, questions, or suggestions and you can reach me directly at director@medplusconnect.org.
Thank you,
Anna
