Continuing to support our families.
By Catherine Wieczorek | Development Coordinator
Interfaith Neighbors continues to help families in need to stay in their homes. This past month, Interfaith Neighbors helped a single mother of three who recently suffered a massive heart attack and needed surgery. She is doing well and hopes to return to work shortly. Interfaith Neighbors assisted with her back rent so the family could maintain their housing.
Recently, we helped a grandmother who had to take custody of her two grandchildren, a seven year old and a
developmentally disabled teenager. The grandmother works part time as a home health aide. It was necessary for her to relocate the children from their present environment. Interfaith Neighbors provided rental assistance to make this move possible.
These are just a few of the stories we hear every day of people struggling to make ends meet and take care of their families. We hope you will continue to support homeless families in Monmouth County!

Ringing in the New Year!
By Catherine Wieczorek | Development Coordinator
Interfaith Neighbors continues to work hard to support working poor families and prevent them from becoming homeless. We recently completed our annual report, and the numbers reflect what our staff has felt all year through - we provided assistance to a record-breaking number of families this year! In a typical year, Interfaith Neighbors will provide rental and mortgage assistance to approximately 200-225 families. This year however, we helped over 270 families. So many families received assistance that some of our grants actually ran out of funds by October - an unprecedented phenomenon. We made it through the end of the year based on the generosity of several donors who came through in the last quarter.
We continue to rely on donations like those received through GlobalGiving in order to support our families. We have entered the new year, and we can't continue to do this work without your help. We sincerely hope this year brings much needed financial stability in our communities. For those who are still struggling, and with your support, Interfaith Neighbors will be here to help!

Rental and Mortgage Assistance Update
By Catherine Wieczorek | Development Director
Interfaith Neighbors has had a busy year. We have distributed funds to an unprecedented number of families throughout Monmouth County. We continue to receive requests for assistance from hundreds of families a week. Our average level of assistance has gone down this year in order to accomodate the growing number of families we have been serving. Recently, Interfaith Neighbors assisted a woman who had been treated for lung cancer which has spread to her brain. She is being operated on to remove the brain tumor. To help her through this difficult period she was granted a rent subsidy. This is just one of many stories of people on the brink of homelessness that have been helped by Interfaith Neighbors. If you would like to help families just like this, please consider making a donation to Interfaith Neighbors. Thank you for your support!
