It has been 4 months since 2 Category 5 hurricanes ravaged St. Thomas. The Historical Trust Museum has been working hard at restoration efforts and was able to open the museum to the local community and tourist visitors on November 10th, 2017.
Since re-opening the museum, we have had 70 guests visit the museum. We are working with the Department of Education in efforts to increase our school field trips to the museum. Our membership base has provided some needed support to aid in the relief efforts and financial support to keep the museum open until tourism returns to St. Thomas. We still have some photographs, art and furniture in need of restoration.
Our Historical Downtown walking tour resumed on January 23rd and will continue throughout the year. Hassel Island tours are not running at this time due to damage sustained on Hassel Island. Continued partnerships with the National Park Service and private donations will help move Hassel Island relief efforts forward.
