As of August 2024 our team has focused on implementing additional theoretical training to strengthen knowledge on climate resilience, preparing to create 49 additional micro-reservoirs and install 61 irrigation systems, and scheduling workshops to adapt the 61 intervention plans as needed to consider the current water deficit in the Peruvian altiplano.
The plan for the remainder of the project is outlined as follows:
The installation of 61 irrigation systems will take two months to complete (from December 2024-January 2025). This activity will be supervised by a local expert with the participation of the partner beneficiaries.
The placement of fencing will take three months to complete (from January - March 2025).
The planting of seeds will take two months to complete (from December 2024-January 2025). This will be done at the start of the rainy season.
Results will be measured in August 2025, in the middle of the next dry season, to evaluate the effectiveness of the actions communities took.
