It is so rewarding to help lives grow. The poultry project will help vitalize the lives of over 300 precious kids most of whom are victims of HIV/AIDS by circumstance. It will also add a modest income to Balikyewunya Foundation's road to self reliance. This will also act as a demonstration center to farmers who would like to venture into poultry but only lack the know-how.
There are 300 orphans we foster at the Kingsland School, many of whom are HIV positive by circumstance. Due to strong medicines they take daily, feeding with lots of proteins and vitamins to boost their immunity is paramount. -Poultry production is still very low in our community and thus poultry products are very expensive. -300 kids will be fed directly from the project. -15 members of staff will also benefit from the project.
-Each of the 300 kids will be able to take a boiled egg at breakfast, 4 times a week! -The surplus production will be marketed around our community to make the project self-sustaining after 5 months -The 15 staff members will also benefit from the poultry project -The project will also act as a demonstration site to help educate farmers in the community who lack the skills.
-Balanced diet will be achieved for the 300+ vulnerable kids -Organic manure from the project will help fertilize our food and fruit gardens and this will greatly increase our food and fruit production -Pupils will be practically taught how to rear chicken -The surplus will provide additional income to Balikyewunya Foundation
