This project report is simply to share with you a change in sponsorship of the Postsecondary Education for Girls in Burkina Faso project. Friends of Burkina Faso (FBF), the longtime sponsor of this project, has decided to spin this project off.
The Burkina Faso Girls' Education Fund (BFGEF) was established to continue the support of this very successful girls' education project. Through Global NEEED Burkina who has managed and implemented this project since 2010, Friends of Burkina Faso has supported postsecondary scholarships for 233 village girls from subsistence farming families, girls who would have had no chance at postsecondary education/training without outside scholarship support. All but four girls have succeeded in their studies (or for those currently in school are succeeding in their studies) for an impressive 98% graduation rate.
AS YOU CONTINUE TO DONATE TO THIS PROJECT ON GLOBALGIVING, ALL WILL BE THE SAME EXCEPT FOR THE PROJECT SPONSOR WHICH IS NOW BURKINA FASO GIRLS' EDUCATION FUND, a new partner with GlobalGiving.
Thank you for your continuing support.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
