FF functions from the belief that 'no child needs sacrifice quality of life to an illness'. The Foundation endeavors to ensure that the basic rights of all children accessing care through the centres at Bangalore & Hyderabad are protected. This is an orphan care residential program where FF plays the role of guardian providing shelter, educational & medical support for HIV +ve children
This child care initiative of the Foundation was a response to the disease, death and abandonment that children faced after the demise of their parents. The disease and financial burden caused by HIV/AIDS on the family, make the children infected vulnerable to various social evils like child labour, trafficking to sex work and other sexual abuse. We have a responsibility to see that these children are not denied the basic rights to their childhood but lead a hopeful existence, free of exploitation.
These children need education, health services, consistent support systems, love, hope and encouragement and more are required in order to experience childhood to the fullest, and to eventually develop into healthy, capable adults. By enhancing access to treatment & psycho-social care, education & nutrition support the Foundation ensures that the children while remaining healthy continue to pursue education & life skills training are thus protected from these threats and have a brighter future
The goal is successful rehabilitation. By providing Holistic residential care, the program enhances both the longevity & quality of life. These children once enrolled will remain with the Foundation nearly 10 to 12 years, learns adherence to their medication & cope up with the illness, becomes psychologically strong, complete their education, start an independent life and become productive citizen of the community.
