Summary

Autism is a complex neurobiological disorder (TEA in Spanish and ASD autism spectrum disorder, in English); the condition of ASD is not a disease, but a complex alteration product of a variation in neuronal development, which affects brain function. Challenge

The families of Dian Carlos and Miguel, both diagnosed with autism, do not have the economical means to afford a therapeutic plan that adapts to their needs. This can lead to developmental setbacks and behavioral changes, which will negatively impact their lives and their families.

Solution

The funds will be used for granting scholarships to Dian Carlos and Miguel at Autismo Dejando Huella, so they can receive individualized therapeutic and psychoeducational plans for specialized attention as well as training, education, leisure and medical attention.

Long-Term Impact

At Autismo Dejando Huella, Dian Carlos and Miguel will be able to receive a full year of therapeutic, individualized planning, tailored to their needs, in a structured environment and with tons of affection, which will positively impact their quality of life and their families', strengthening their abilities and skills to achieve more independence and integration.
