Project Report | Mar 21, 2024
Por la paz en la Tarahumara

By Angela Sepulveda | Project Leader

During this time we have managed to advance thanks to the support provided for the Sierra, different actions have been achieved that translate into safe spaces that contribute to community life.

It was adapted to cultural spaces such as choir and murals
In order to form some neighborhood groups, they were invited literally knocking door to door, explaining to the parents the objective and the activities to be carried out.
Not all neighborhoods have an adequate public space for the development of activities, which is why support with these spaces was sought from educational institutions.

t is necessary to specify that sometimes the themes of the circles are not taken from any of the manuals, we have thought about different themes, such as: "The relationship with your church", "Sad and happy moments with your family", "That we we like and what we don't like about our group or school”, “What has been caused to us by the various situations of violence experienced in our community”
In the case of the dialogue circles applied with adolescents and young people within groups, whether neighborhood or school, it has generated important awareness about knowing how to listen to one's partner and at the same time being able to speak freely from one's feelings, generating a very high expectation which results in a better intergroup relationship and an emotional discharge that is visible to the eye, their body language speaks for itself, showing more tranquility and even acceptance of some problems in their life whose consequence is the search for help with the Psychologist collaborating with the project.
