Jan 16, 2024 BOOST MENTAL HEALTH FOR 3MIL KIDS IN 180 COUNTRIES

Hi Friends-

We hit our goal in 2024 to increase our POP-UP Festival Celebrations with UNICEF Offices-- this year we collaborated with UNICEF Italy, UNICEF India and UNICEF Headquarters in NYC. Special thanks to the volunteer teams in those countries for creating wonderful experiences for children and families.

Our 2024 global campaign for POP-UP featured “Climate in your hand.” This activity highlights our work on SDG 13 for climate action. It encourages participants to identify their feelings about climate and supports them to transform their feelings and take action.

We had participants from nine countries– USA, Nepal, Japan, China, Peru, Barbados, Ukraine, Italy, and India send in their drawings . The POP-UP Festival team gathered all of them in a video and featured the work at the big POP-UP UNICEF event held at UNICEF headquarters New York on November 20, to celebrate World Children’s day.

At that event we had over 200 UN employees and their families attend to learn more about children’s rights and emotional wellbeing. The activities were hosted by students from Nord Anglia School and they were particularly excited to share their knowledge of SDGs.

This spring, POP-UP Festival will be featured on March 3 at #SELDay. POP-UP Festivals help teachers and parents bring #SELmoments to their students and family.

Sharing stories of what effective SEL looks like and the positive impact of SEL in communities around the world is a central component of SELday. These compelling, personal stories may be shared on social media, by email, via broadcast media, during in-person and online events, and more.

Recent research has shown that what influences the general public most powerfully to support SEL are personal stories about experiences with SEL shared by young people, educators/youth development professionals, and family members.

We hope you join us to spread awareness for SEL globally and are excited to see your #SELmoment on social media!

If you have not yet participated in POP-UP Festivals please join us to experience the fun and transformation. To get access to all 70+ activities in the POP-UP Library follow the links below.

With gratitude-

Patty
