POP-UP Leaders at UNICEF House
POP-UP Festival staff is growing! We have a full team of Festival Coordinators to support the global project. I’d like to briefly introduce you to the team and share a bit about the plans for POP-UP 2024
The project is coordinated by Ayaka Mawarida-Lynch, Antonella Málaga, Saugat Singh with assistance from intern Seohyeon Kim.
Ayaka Mawarida-Lynch is based in USA but is originally from Japan. She supports mentor training and community gatherings as well as new POP-UP content creation. Ayaka is the parent of three marvelous children and recently completed her Masters Degree in social justice. human rights.
Antonella Málaga is based in Peru. She works with regional coordinators to build local networks of POP-UP mentors. She’s especially good at building relationships and sharing her love of POP-UP Festival with new people. Antonella is a psychologist working in private practice.
Saugat Singh is based in Nepal. He’s the most recent addition to our coordinator team. He’s an educator and works in youth leadership development. Saugat has a lot of training and experience in SEL and supports teachers and youth leaders to bring POP-UP Festivals to students globally.
Seohyeon Kim is based in Republic of Korea. She’s recently graduated from high school and will be attending Northwestern University. She’s been supporting our social media, administrative support and member of our youth leadership team.
In addition to the leaders above, we have a full team of volunteer mentors, translators and community coordinators. As you know POP-UP Festival is a free activity based program to bring emotional intelligence wellbeing skills to children. It runs on volunteers in local and is staffed by volunteer mentors. POP-UP Festival is made possible by a network of enthusiastic parents, teachers and community leaders just like you who host thousands of micro-activations globally during the year and culminating in a big celebration for World Children's Day on November 20.
This year we are excited to announce that there will be another “Super POP-UP Celebration” at UNICEF House in NYC on November 20, 2024. We will showcase activities that focus on climate, emotional wellbeing and the future of childhood. Stay tuned for more news about the event.
