Hello friends,
We’re very excited to share new leadership for the POP-UP Supermentor team. Ayaka Mawakrida and Antonella Malaga are experienced facilitators who have agreed to head up the next level of SuperMentor projects for POP- UP Festivals. They will be focused in increasing engagements and activating experienced hosts as well as working with Six Seconds to more broadly expand the program to wider audiences this year.
One of the initiatives is to create themed POP-UP Festival content areas to support the annual themes of Six Seconds. The first theme they will create is “Optimism” so that hosts can hold events to develop the skills of optimism for children and families.
If you have more theme ideas you’d like to see created please reach out to us and let us know what would be helpful to your network..
Thank you for being a part of our POP-UP community and helping us increase children’s wellbeing around the world.
Warmly,
Patty Freedman

Hello friends,
It's almost time for another year of our big POP-UP festival!
We’re very excited to share that we just finished ‘Content Creation Camp’ with our Super Mentors. This means we will have fresh popup content by the end of the year - just in time for the World’s Children Day in November. Super Mentors are those who have hosted POP-UP Festival and mentor new hosts. This group is expert in conducting POP-UP and has first hand experience of hosting events across the world. We’re so grateful for their enthusiasm in putting together new content and a special shout out to Paige Dest who coordinates the Super Mentor program.
These new activities are in line with our goal of creating free, playful, meaningful activities to help kids grow their emotional intelligence and take action on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We are currently in the process of play-testing the activities. Some of the ideas included themes of Inclusion, Friendship, Movement and Joy.. We can’t wait to share these activities with our POP-UP community soon!
We’re excited for another season of the POP-UP Festival for World Children’s Day on Nov 20. We hope you will join the celebration this year.
Thank you for being a part of our POP-UP community and helping us increase children’s wellbeing around the world.
Warmly,
Patty Freedman
Hello friends,
We wanted to send you an update and share all the news about our new initiative– 2022 Cohort of Wellbeing Advocates.
The Six Seconds Wellbeing Advocates Program is a generative, fast-paced immersion supporting emerging wellbeing advocates to develop their leadership abilities, expand their emotional intelligence, and practice a community-oriented design process for effective interventions. Interns are individuals ages 18+ from a diverse set of backgrounds with interest in making positive change in the wellbeing of their communities, and achieving personal growth.
Over the course of the program, these individuals will collaborate in small groups to develop interventions aimed to increase wellbeing. Interns will be encouraged to focus their projects on communities or issues that are salient to them. Projects can include, and are certainly not limited to: a social media campaign, short film, app, activity, zine, lesson plan, product, or event.
Here’s some topics the team have identified:
This project is possible thanks to you. As we celebrate our 25th year bringing emotional intelligence resources to people globally, we are truly grateful for your continous support in helping raise awareness for mental health and emotional wellbeing. Thank you for being a part of our Six Seconds community and helping us to bring emotional intelligence to one billion people.
Warmly,
Patty Freedman

This year Six Seconds is celebrating its 25th anniversary. One thing we’re especially excited about is implementing our new initiative– 2022 Cohort of Wellbeing Changemakers. We’re truly grateful for your continous support in helping us raise these funds - which will enable us to make this year’s POP-UP bigger and better.
We are currently in the process of hiring new interns who will be assisting us in the below areas:
We’re looking forward to sharing more information as we make progress in the above areas.
We’re excited to expand our POP-UP Festival outreach to more children around the world and provide them wellbeing resources as COVID-19 continues to be a disruptor for many communities. We’d really appreciate you spreading the word and encouraging people in your network to be part of the festival. Please feel free to share POP-UP festival registration page (see link below)
Thank you for being a part of our POP-UP community and helping us increase children’s wellbeing around the world.
