At the end of April, Pope Francis Center relocated from Huntington Place convention center back to our programmatic homebase at Sts. Peter and Paul Jesuit Church. During the six months we spent operating out of Huntington Place, we were able to serve approximately 200 guests each day through the coldest days of winter and the riskiest stretches of the pandemic. And that would not have been possible without your support.
During a typical summer, it wouldn’t be abnormal for the number of individuals in need of our services each day to decrease slightly. However, this summer, the number of guests we welcome each day has remained high, and we are seeing new faces come through our doors daily, many of them younger than our typical clientele. With this increase in need, we have needed to adjust the supplies we keep on-hand, as we were regularly running out of the hygiene items and other essential supplies we distribute each day. Thanks to donors like you, we have been able to respond to the ever changing needs of our community.
And your support was pivotal: last year, we served 75,679 meals, washed over 5,348 loads of laundry, provided 6,091 showers, and provided more than 1,200 hours of respite to our guests.
