Continuing Education, Building Brighter Futures

By Mohamud Hassan Ali | Project Leader

Dear Esteemed Donors,

Warm greetings from the Humanitarian Relief and Development Council (HRDC)!

We are pleased to share a brief update on our Poor Orphan Girls Education Project. Thanks to the continued support of GlobalGiving donors, 20 orphaned girls have continued their education and remained engaged in their studies during this reporting period.

Project Update: June – September 2026

During this period, HRDC continued to support the girls' educational continuity, school attendance, learning needs, and overall wellbeing.

  • All 20 girls remained enrolled in school, with continued monitoring of attendance and progress.
  • HRDC maintained communication with schools, guardians and caregivers to identify and address challenges affecting education.
  • The girls continued receiving support with essential learning materials and educational needs.
  • Mentorship and encouragement continued to strengthen the girls' confidence, motivation and commitment to education.
  • HRDC continued monitoring child protection and wellbeing, ensuring that beneficiaries remained supported in a safe and encouraging environment.

Continuing Challenges

The families of the beneficiaries continue to face economic difficulties, while the cost of education and basic school requirements remains a challenge. HRDC also continues to receive requests from other vulnerable orphaned girls who need educational assistance.

Looking Ahead

HRDC will continue working to keep all 20 girls in school, strengthen mentorship and educational support, and mobilize additional resources to reach more orphaned and vulnerable girls.

Thank You

We sincerely thank GlobalGiving and all our donors for standing with these girls. Your support is helping them remain in school, build confidence, and pursue their dreams despite difficult circumstances.

Together, we are giving vulnerable girls the opportunity to learn, grow and build a better future.

With heartfelt appreciation,
