Pool Fund is essential to meet Emergency

By Abid Lashari - Tamgha e Imtiaz | President NDF Pakistan

Dear Donors and Supporters,

Warm greetings from NDF Pakistan.

We are pleased to share the progress of our project "Pool Fund for Disaster Emergency in Pakistan", supported through the GlobalGiving platform. Your generous contributions are helping NDF Pakistan maintain a rapid response mechanism that enables immediate assistance to disaster-affected communities across Pakistan.

Pakistan remains highly vulnerable to floods, heatwaves, droughts, earthquakes, storms, and other humanitarian emergencies. When disasters strike, the first few hours and days are critical. The Emergency Pool Fund allows NDF Pakistan to respond quickly without waiting for lengthy funding approvals, ensuring that vulnerable families receive timely assistance when they need it most.

Project Achievements

During this reporting period, the Emergency Pool Fund enabled NDF Pakistan to:

  • Provide emergency assistance to over 500 disaster-affected individuals.
  • Support vulnerable households affected by heatwaves and climate-related emergencies in Sindh.
  • Distribute emergency food packages, safe drinking water, hygiene kits, and essential non-food items.
  • Establish cooling stations and community awareness activities during extreme heat conditions.
  • Ensure inclusion of persons with disabilities, women, children, and older persons in emergency response efforts.
  • Mobilize volunteers and community responders to assist affected populations.
  • NDF established The Cooling Station to beat the heat in Nawabshah for a Month 14th May-14th June 2026 in Nawabshah, Awareness sessions on Heat-wave at camp, for cold water, cold drinks, Doctor for refferals, Ambulance on Call, air coolers at sitting areas. NDF facilitates 900 people a Day.

Impact on Communities

The availability of flexible emergency funding helped NDF Pakistan:

  • Respond rapidly during emergencies.
  • Reach vulnerable communities before conditions worsened.
  • Reduce health and protection risks among affected populations.
  • Support families with essential life-saving assistance.
  • Promote inclusive humanitarian action, ensuring that persons with disabilities were not left behind.
  • We need your more support for more resources to meet the emergency
