On 28th September, Tiempo de Juego run the 5th edition of the 5Kzuca, a 5K race that raises awareness about teenage pregnancy.
The event is a space for social integration, where more than 500 children, young people and adults from different backgrounds had the opportunity to share experiences and create shared memories around themes that require special attention in order to achieve social change.
The main objectives of the event were:
Since 2018, this strategy has been developed within the framework of the Andean Week, organized by the Colombian Family Welfare Institute for the prevention of teenage pregnancies. Tiempo de Juego is committed to this theme and promotes it through events such as the 5Kzucá.
We had the support of different governmental and private platforms, who committed to tackling teenage pregnancy.
Runners from around Bogotá signed up for the race and ran the first 4 kilometers on their own around the neighborhood of Cazucá. The last kilometer they ran holding hands with a child from Tiempo de Juego to show their support in achieveing their dreams and having a better future!
The race had very positive results within the community and amongst the children. Tiempo de Juego was able to become better known and, at the same time, it was able to raise awareness about teenage pregnancy.
