One of the Tiempo de Juego’s dreams was to build a soccer field in vulnerable sectors of Colombia. The organization was launched thirteen years ago, by Andres Wiesner, a Colombian journalist who, one day, took the fateful step of kicking a tattered, makeshift soccer ball, with a group of kids on a dusty, rock strewn street, in the midst of a gang infested slum near Bogotá (Cazucá). From that moment, 20 children started to play soccer in a swamp as a result of raining days and dust of uncovered roads. Later, 200 hundred children dream was the same: having a safe, accessible place to play along with friends and family at the same time they’re learning the pedagogical lessons soccer always leave us, such as respect, disciplina, teamwork and constance.
Ciudadela Sucre (in the suburbs of Bogotá) was presented to us as an opportunity. An opportunity to bring as may people as possible together to focus on the very same goal: building the children’s dream soccer field. Thanks to the support of love.futbol, UEFA Foundation, Pavimentos Colombia and NOVO football, the dream was becoming a reality.
More than 100 volunteers worked during 1500 hours to shape everyone’s dream: our New Soccer Field in Ciudadela Sucre. The place hundreds of children were dreaming about is already here beneficiating more than 500 children.
We thank the support you've been giving Fundación Tiempo de Juego this year to be able to provide children and youth with an opportunity to have natural highs through sports.
