Aakash (not his real name) is around 4 years old. He is the second child of his parent. He has got an ender sister also. His father is a daily laborer and the family is living in a thatched house in Bharatpur slum, Bhubaneswar. His mother is also working as housemaid in nearby apartments to support the family. In this situation, giving education to both the children was a hard task for the poor parents. When they came to know about Ruchika Play School in their slum, his mother immediately enrolled Aakash. At first he was very apprehensive and started crying after his mother left him at the Play School. But, the teaching in joyful methods, songs, dance, games, stories etc. and loving and caring behavior of the teachers appealed Aakash very much. Now he is not interested to go home after the class. He is very good in songs and dance. He is a bright student and his mother is very happy now. She is planning to admit him in government primary school next year.
