Trees are vital to the ecological balance of our planet. They absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen, contributing significantly to air quality. Additionally, they provide essential resources such as food, shelter, and medicinal plants.
Regrettably, deforestation is a pressing environmental issue. The indiscriminate felling of trees without subsequent reforestation disrupts ecological equilibrium. A recent instance of this occurred in Mirpur 10, Dhaka, where trees were removed without replacement. In response, our volunteers initiated a reforestation project by planting fruit and medicinal trees, enhancing the area’s aesthetic appeal and ecological value.
To further our commitment to environmental stewardship, PATHWAY volunteers conducted a tree planting awareness program in a remote region of Mymensingh. Thirty students were provided with fruit tree saplings to cultivate.
These initiatives underscore the importance of community engagement in environmental conservation. We urge individuals to support our efforts in safeguarding the environment for future generations.
