1. Introduction

As part of our ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability and community well-being, Joy Foundation Pakistan launched the "Plant Tree: Save Pakistan" campaign. This nationwide initiative aims to combat deforestation, mitigate climate change, and promote ecological awareness through large-scale tree plantation efforts involving schools, communities, and local authorities.

2. Objectives

  • The primary objectives of the "Plant Tree: Save Pakistan" campaign were:
  • To plant a minimum of 50 trees in key regions across Pakistan.
  • To raise environmental awareness among youth and local communities.
  • To reduce carbon footprint and increase green cover.
  • To encourage civic responsibility and community participation.

3. Activities Undertaken

3.1. Tree Plantation Drives

  • Plantation events were organized in district Toba Tek Singh including villages.
  • Native and climate-resilient species were selected, including Neem, Kikar, Sheesham, Gulmohar, Moringa, and fruit-bearing trees.
  • Collaboration with schools, colleges, local government bodies, and volunteers ensured a wide-reaching impact.

3.2. Awareness Sessions

  • Conducted 2 awareness sessions in schools and communities on the importance of afforestation.
  • Distributed eco-friendly brochures and plantation guides to students and local farmers.

3.3. Media and Outreach

  • Social media campaigns under the hashtag #Plant Tree: Save Pakistan reached over 2 people Coverage on local news channels and radio helped in amplifying the message.

4. Key Achievements

  • Total Trees Planted:3000 pants
  • Regions Covered: in District Toba Tek Singh, Punjab, Pakistan
  • Community Participation: Over 5 volunteers, including students, teachers, civil society, and farmers.
  • Partnerships: Collaborated with teachers and student of Joy Foundation school.

5. Challenges Faced

  • Water Scarcity in some plantation areas led to a need for installing sustainable watering systems.
  • Limited awareness in rural areas was addressed through door-to-door campaigns and local influencers.
  • Monitoring and Maintenance of planted trees remains a challenge requiring ongoing support.
