1. Introduction
Joy Foundation Pakistan recognizes that climate change and environmental degradation are increasingly affecting vulnerable communities in Pakistan. Rising temperatures, irregular rainfall, floods, droughts, air pollution, and the loss of trees are creating serious challenges for poor and marginalized families.
Brick kiln workers and their families are particularly vulnerable because they often live and work in environments with high levels of dust, smoke, heat, and air pollution. Children living around brick kilns are also exposed to unhealthy environmental conditions.
To respond to these challenges, Joy Foundation Pakistan initiated the “Plant Trees – Save Pakistan” campaign to promote tree plantation, environmental responsibility, climate awareness, and community participation.
The campaign encourages children, parents, brick kiln workers, teachers, community leaders, and other community members to plant and protect trees in their communities.
2. Background and Rationale
Pakistan is facing increasing environmental challenges, including extreme heat, air pollution, deforestation, water shortages, floods, and changing weather patterns. Trees and green spaces can contribute to healthier communities by providing shade, improving the local environment, supporting biodiversity, and helping communities adapt to changing climatic conditions.
Brick kiln communities often have limited access to green spaces. Therefore, tree plantation activities provide an opportunity to involve these communities directly in environmental protection.
Joy Foundation believes that environmental education should begin with children. When children learn about the importance of trees and participate in plantation activities, they can also encourage their families and communities to protect the environment.
3. Overall Goal
The overall goal of the “Plant Trees – Save Pakistan” campaign is:
To promote environmental protection and climate awareness among brick kiln workers, children, and their families through tree plantation and community-based environmental activities.
4. Specific Objectives
The campaign aims to:
5. Target Beneficiaries

Joy Foundation teachers and community workers will periodically follow up on the planted trees and encourage children to continue caring for them.
9. Monitoring and Documentation
Joy Foundation will maintain records of the campaign activities, including:
Photographs and activity reports will be collected to document the progress and impact of the campaign.
10. Community Message
Joy Foundation believes that protecting the environment is a shared responsibility. Government institutions, civil society organizations, schools, businesses, families, and individuals all have an important role to play.
A tree planted today can provide shade, cleaner air, beauty, and environmental benefits for many years. By involving children and vulnerable communities, the campaign seeks to develop a culture of environmental responsibility that can continue from one generation to the next.
11. Conclusion
The “Plant Trees – Save Pakistan” campaign is an initiative of Joy Foundation Pakistan to encourage vulnerable communities, particularly brick kiln workers and their children, to become active participants in environmental protection.
The campaign combines tree plantation with environmental education and community participation. Through these activities, Joy Foundation hopes to contribute to greener communities, greater climate awareness, and a healthier environment for children and families.
Joy Foundation Pakistan believes that every tree matters, every child can make a difference, and every community can contribute to protecting Pakistan’s environment.
