The school here, is one of the 25 schools we are working with, with more than 300 students, this school has been benefitted from the activities and programmes offered by Proforestal last month. The kids, from grades K to 5, have learned how to start growing a sustainable future for San Luis Potosi City, helping nature heal our city.

Proforestal mission is to inspire people, and support them to take resposability for our urban forest. Working with schools means that we are to establish  function community starting one school at time. How? We are assisting teachers in providing a program that combines academics in the clasrrom with planting in the community.

This school, Jardin de Niños Raul Sandoval, planted 25 fruit trees, with the help of the 60 kids, some parent, they learned the value of trees, how to plant a tree, tree care, energy saving, water supply, climate change,

Finally the activities, in classrom and in the field make the students to think a little about the elements of a city: cars, houses, buildings and TREES

Today we continue making this project bigger, we are including new schools and planting trees every week, as of  today, we have planted 3500 trees. when the season ends we hope to plant at least 5000 and as of today we have worked with 14 schools of the city and just two communities.
