First of all, we wish you health and well-being, we know that the current situation is a challenge for everyone, and that we will move forward with a new culture of coexistence.
We want to share with you that this year we started our reforestation program very well, and that due to this extraordinary situation, events and trainings had to be canceled.
Finally this past September 20, we organized with neighbors from the Fuerte Ventura community. He first had an approach with community leaders, around September 5. We visit an area within the community, approximately 10,000 m2, and check the composition of the soil, the depth and the availability of water. We established that 180 trees could be planted, as we always plant and propose, native species, cedar, pine, oak and ash.
And we agreed to start the training and reforestation event at 8:30 am on the 20th. We also contacted a group of volunteers and a group of students from the University. All were summoned for Sunday 20 and that day, we started first with the social distancing protocols, 80 volunteers participated with their families, children and adults, and all with face masks.
At the event, they were given training on the importance of caring for and protecting trees, on the importance of maintaining them, on water, and all of them, motivated, planted with great enthusiasm.
It is important to mention that this was our first event with the pandemic, almost 10 days ago, and with this event we inaugurated our 2020 reforestation season and with this event as well, we will be carrying out the following, with the appropriate distancing measures. We hope to continue with our task of planting trees and to continue all in good health.
Hopefully our new normal continues with the project we have for San Luis Potosí and its surroundings. Until next time
