Dear supporters,
we can not thank you all enough for all the support you are giving us!
As I mentioned in my previous report, the Sahara desert is expanding southward at a rate of 48 kms a year, forcing whole communities to migrate and pushing them on to land occupied by other groups. However, with your help we are planting :) We started with 500 trees, and are now around 760 trees.
Some trees had unfortunately to be replaced. Mostly the banana trees were difficult to keep alive, even when they survived the strong heat of the summer season. Our Eucalyptus and Bamboo trees are doing perfect and the soils are even improving.
The positive effect of the roots of the trees is now being used for our agricultural school. We are planting trees in between our test fields, so the plants have more shadow and better soils.
We will keep on planting and we hope you keep on surporting us!
Thanks!
