Plant a Tree in Mali

Dear supporters,

thank you for all you have done till now! We are still busy planting. The heat in the last months was enormous, we therefore had to replace some trees. Nevertheless, most of them survived and enabled the famers to save their crops from the heat. The shawdow they give are priceless. We can see the dried earth reviving.

Our watersystem is running perfectly. Picture say more than word: so have a look at the new trees.

We will plant the next 200 trees starting from September. Dont hestiate to help us reach our goals :)

Meanwhile our classes on ecological agriculture and the importance of trees to slow down desertification are running.

Dear supporters,

we can not thank you all enough for all the support you are giving us! We are greatful that you believe in us and that you want to spend your money on trees which will make our planet a better place!

As I mentioned in all  my previous report, the Sahara desert is expanding southward at a rate of 48 kms a year, forcing whole communities to migrate and pushing them on to land occupied by other groups. However, with your help we are planting :) We started with 500 trees, the last report mentioned 760 trees. We are now on our way to Kayes to plant again 200 trees.

Some trees had unfortunately to be replaced. Mostly the banana trees were difficult to keep alive, even when they survived the strong heat of the summer season. Our Eucalyptus and Bamboo trees are doing perfect and the soils are even improving. You can see the growth of our trees in the pictures.

The positive effect of the roots of the trees is being used for our agricultural school. We are planting trees in between our test fields, so the plants have more shadow and better soils.

We will keep on planting and we hope you keep on surporting us!

Please do support us further so we can keep on planting!

Thanks!
