With the increasingly complex problems in our society, new kinds of leadership will be needed in their solutions. Partnering closely with stakeholders such as universities, foundations and social organizations, PIM's "learning by doing" programs empower young people with the education, resources and networks to become mission-driven leaders and effective changemakers. We seek funding to support young leaders in developing solutions to the world's most pressing social and environmental problems.
More than 2/3 of young people express they want to make a difference in their careers but don't know where to start. At the same time, traditional university education has failed to prepare graduates to address the needs of society in a world of exponential change, with little emphasis on problem solving, innovation or global citizenship. There is an urgent need for innovative education models that equip young people of all backgrounds with the perspective and skills to challenge the status quo.
PIM partners with stakeholders such as universities, foundations, and social organizations to provide education and capacity-building programs all founded on a "learning by doing" model for solving social problems. We believe that everyone - regardless of age or background - can be a changemaker if they are given the opportunity. Your support will contribute to making changemaker education more accessible to all kinds of students and youths, including those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Many of PIM's 2,900 alumni cite their experience with PIM as a catalyst for their social impact leadership, including: establishing one of the biggest private foundations in China, initiating a pro-bono arm for their company, and launching community projects serving marginalized communities in Beijing. Our "learning by doing" programs also have a ripple impact through our community partners: PIM has fundraised and donated RMB 3.6+ million to social causes and organizations led by young people.
