Progress is Often Slow ..... But Steady!

To Our Wonderful Supporters:

Since our last update, we have been focused on ......... progress; simply making progress.  Our patients are making slow but steady progress in overcoming physical or intellectual challenges. While we often wish for spectacular results showering down, we instead get slow but steady progress.

Yoselin, pictured here, is a classic example.  Born a typical infant, at about 18 months she developed terribly high fevers, leaving her unable to use her hands, arms or legs.  She lay twisted on a board for several years, or slung over her mom's shoulder when her mom went to work.  When the Rosa Vera Fund heard about this child, we knew we had to help.  After years of intense stretching, strengthening, devoted family involvement, and nutritional care, Yoselin is now walking - with minimal support - to church, birthday parties, and most importantly, school!  It turns out that Yoselin's brain works just fine - she is now learning in leaps and bounds in order to reach her potential.  this is just one story, among many, to show you how important and effective your support is.

So, our report this quarter is just this: The children we work with are definitely making progress - their parents see it, their teachers and therapists see it, and the community sees it as well.  We remain committed to helping current patients reach their full potential, while taking on more children whenever possible.  Every dollar of your donation is spent strategically and compassionately and goes directly to programs that help each child.

Thank you so much for your support!  Your donation is truly helping individual children - and it is all worth it.

Sincerely,

Karen Melk, Chair
