De La Salle Philippines (DLSP) supports works for sustained Marawi rehabilitation efforts. As member of DLSP, De La Salle University (DLSU) supports the collaborative effort among DLSP members for sustained Marawi rehabilitation efforts. In the series of meetings, attended by representatives of member schools, DLSP shifted focus of its interventions in Marawi to consider and complement government's efforts to rebuild Marawi specially major efforts on infrastructure and provision of basic services.
DLSP recognizes the major recovery and rehabilitation activities being undertaken by the Philippine government, the private sector and non-government organizations. Hence, its direction not to duplicate existing initiatives hence DLSP launched “Pakapipiya Ka” School Assistance Project. The project aims to distribute approximately 3,000 school bags with poncho to public schools in Marawi City before the school year of 2018 begins this June. One school bag including content costs Php 450.00 (the bag costs Php 300, the standard learner’s kit / school supplies, Php 100 and the cost for freight is Php 50). The project targets to distribute the school bags by end of May to early June 2018.
Focused on the "Pakapipiya Ka" School Assistance Project, the planned second session of the Medical-Psychological First Aid-Relief Mission undertaken on September 8, 2017 in Maharlika, Taguig City was canceled with the positive development that most, if not all of the evacuee - households that have temporarily stayed in the homes of their relatives in Maharlika, Taguig City already went home to Marawi City.
