Teaching programme of weak students in BDP School
Teaching programme of weak students in BDP School

Project

A step forward to achieve the mission and objectives of PES to uplift the rural community less privileged students who are weak in studies as they could not attend regular classes because of working in the fields with their parents during the agricultural season time. Such students are brought at par with the regular students so that they are not left behind in studies while studying in the next academic session with regular students.

Purpose of the Project

The purpose of this project is to coach and teach the weak students as per their needs and give them value added education as per the educational curriculum and bring them at par at the level of regular average students achievements. Hence the summer period is utilized for this purpose which otherwise remain ideal.

Current Situation

Some students whose achievements are below standard level, they are declared as failed in their classes and not promoted to attend next higher class.  Such students either do not continue further studies or are less motivated to come to study in the same class.

What we did to improve the situation

On the basis of the result declared of the students, the students whose achievements are below average are identified. The groups of students are made on the basis of their educational needs. The subject in which the achievement is poor is identified.  The special teachers are assigned to these groups of students to teach and coach them for the period of four to six weeks and they are brought at the average level of achievement.  The examination is conducted again and the students are promoted as per their achievements in the different classes.  Special classes were held for tailoring training for girls and computer operations for both boys and girls.

Result

1.         Weak students overcome their problems and reach at par with other students.  Their one academic year is                 saved since they are promoted to the next classes and attend the school with regular students.

2.         Girl students learned tailoring and started stitching the clothes at home.  They earn the money and add to                   their family income and thus improve the family living standard.

3.         Both boys and girls learn basic computer operation.

Thanks to Donors

The Management and Members of Psycho Educational Society, BDP School students, staff and teachers are grateful of donors who have donated the funds. With the aid of these funds all these events could happen and the successful event would not have been possible without it.

Utilization of Funds
