Education to Poor Rural Indian Child(One year)

Project 

Generally teaching in school the course is covered such as general and regular subjects for giving formal education. To make this education more interesting and useful, a new practical subject like Home science for girls can be introduced which will make education interesting, practical and they can make carrier.

In BDP School, Home science is added as a regular subject for teaching girls students from classes V – VIII standard.

Purpose of the Project 

By imparting education, Home Science as a full subject for female students of class    V – VIII standard we wish to make them learned the things which are being followed at home but in more scientific, economical, hygienic passion.  By implementing it at home and other places an improvement in their living can be achieved.

Current Situation

Students are ignorance about the subject as a course subject teaching is not imparting in school at any level generally all rural schools are ignorant about this subject and also do not give any importance. This is necessary for modern useful education.

What we did to improve the situation

In BDP School, Barauli, Block Baldeo, Distt. Mathura, UP, Home science is introduced as a full subject in the academic session 2016-17 for girls of V – VIII standard.  New qualified teacher was appointed to give education in Home science. The subject was made compulsory for all girls students. New books were given to all students and the education started from the primary level. Practical classes for cooking in hygienic and economical ways was conducted in the school kitchen. Courses and recipes for healthy food were taught and the advantages of such food were explained.

Result

The student learnt the following:-

1. Importance of hygiene in cooking
2. Scientific ways of cooking, saving energy, time in cooking
3. Recipes for healthy food and their methods of preparation
4. Prescription and preparation of diet chart for different types of persons. Such as patients, normal persons, children, sports persons, pregnant women, adolescent girls etc. 
5. How to take care of sick persons and patients
6. Primary health care education
7. Tailoring training and other money generating skills

 In home science education makes the students aware about necessary requirement of healthy and purposeful living and this develops their personality traits.

Thanks to Donors

The Management and Members of Psycho Educational Society, BDP School students, staff and teachers are grateful of donors who have donated the funds. With the aid of these funds all these events could happen and the successful event would not have been possible without it.

Utilization of Funds

The funds received from donors are utilized to meet the budget of Mid Morning Meal expenditures. The money is also utilized in organizing such events which helps in overall development of student's personality in BDP School, Barauli, Block Baldeo, Distt. Mathura, U.P. India managed by Psycho Educational Society.

The girl students and their parents like and appreciated the teaching of the Home science course along with other regular subjects and they found it useful in their living. The girls student trained from the school participated at the block level cooking completion and won prizes.  One such girl Bhumika earned I prize in the block cooking completion.
