Project

To achieve the commitment of Psycho Educational Society to teach the less privileged children in BDP School, Barauli, Block Baldeo, Distt. Mathura, UP, India, their enrollment and regular attendance in school.

Purpose of the Project

To develop less privileged children by giving value added education, So that child labour can be eradicated and children get education and learn skills and techniques to generate money which will add to their family income along with their studies and they need not to do labour in fields with parents or otherwise.  These developed children will be the assets to the country in its development.

Current Situation

Normally, the parents from less privileged community take their children along with them to work in the fields, by this they get help in doing more work and thus earn more money and the children are deprived of education and remain illiterate.

What we did to improve the situation

The school management with the help of school staff visited the less privileged community, parents and explained to them the usefulness of value added education to their children and persuaded them for enrollment of their wards for education in BDP School, Barauli. They explained them the advantages and the stages of personality development of their wards for future graceful living and contributions which they can make for their family, to their village, country in future time to come.  The parents expressed their helplessness because of the expenditure involved in education. The school management gave assurance to parents for free education and reduced the burden of expense to them.  Parents agreed for enrolment of their children for education.

Results, failures and solution

Though a good number of students were enrolled for education in BDP School Barauli, but their attendance were very poor, especially in the crop time. As still the parents were taking their children for field work.  This was the biggest FAILURE of school management since the Psycho Educational Society could not achieve its objectives of eradicating literacy and developing the less privileged community children and bring them up as a useful citizen of the country to live a good life and contributes towards counties development.

The school management further approached the parents and discusses the situation.  The parents explained that they need their children during the day time for the help in the fields for doing their work and earn their livelihood as they have no other means.

The management realized the situation where it could not achieve the objectives which turn into a failure but after careful thinking we learned by planning and adjustment in the school timings decided to start second shift in the afternoon for such less privileged community children who are unable to come to school in the morning shift. These students could work with their parents in the morning hours and in the afternoon time they start coming to school for education. The original plan of running the school in regular time did not work for all the children and the percentage attendance of students was irregular and not conducive with the educational programme.

Thanks to Donors

The Management and Members of Psycho Educational Society, BDP School students, staff and teachers are grateful of donors who have donated the funds. With their funds this project could run and objects, mission and planning of PES could be achieved.

Utilization of funds

The funds received from donors are utilized to meet the deficit of salary and wages to staff and teachers.  The part of money is spent in persuading counseling of less privileged community, children and parents.
