PROJECT

Recreation during Study

The Project conducted under the mission of Psycho Educational Society - Educate Less Privileged Rural Community.

Purpose of the Projects

To motivate students to remain focus on studies during the teaching time in the classroom to avoid apathy.

Current Situation

Students have imparted education in school as per the prefix time table to cover the curriculum in the classrooms by teachers. During long study hours, students started feeling bored and their concentration is deflected. Pickup is reduced and students start going out of the classroom on short intervals giving one excuse or the other.

What we did to improve the situation

1.  Teachers are first trained and made aware of such situations and circumstances in which students start getting apathy in the classroom during teaching hours.

2. Small play games and yogic exercise of small duration are programmed and administered during study hours. Exercises such as deep breathing, moving hands up and down, the narration of small motivational stories and events.

3. When it is observed by the teachers the students start getting bored with the study, the teacher stops teaching for little time and administer the game and exercise for relaxation on students. The students perform some exercise or play games for a small duration.

Results

1. It is observed that the frequency of leaving the class during teaching hours on small excuses is reduced considerably.

2. The wastage & reduction in teaching time of teachers is improved.

3.  Concentration in the study of students is increased.

4. Focus on learning is increased.

5. it is observed that the pickup time of students is also increased considerably.

Thanks to Donors

The Management and Members of Psycho Educational Society, BDP School students, staff and teachers are grateful of donors who have donated the funds. With the aid of these funds all these functions could happen and the successful event would not have been possible without it.

Utilization of Funds

The funds available are used in the purchase of games for the project and in training of teachers for administering the techniques of recreation on students during study hours efficiently.

Quotes from Beneficiaries

On conversation with students and teachers, it was revealed that the achievement of students is improved considerably and students do not feel the urge of leaving the classroom during the teaching time.
