Intergenerational project preventing violence against older people in marginalized neighborhood of Lima.
We promote education, discussion and action in community groups, resulting in reduced levels of violence and abuse towards older people. It is crucial to improve working relations between different generations, achieve higher levels of participation of older people in community organizations and in the social and political life of the country, promoting a more active and inclusive ageing process leading to empowerment. The project directly benefits 130 people and 650 family members.
We work with young and old to understand the dynamics of violence and how to combat through group work and drama workshops.
Our project investigates the situation of violence towards older people in marginal neighborhoods of Lima in order to run awareness campaigns that create understanding of the nature and causes of violence and how it affects the lives of older people.
