Since the start of our campaign we have received a total of USD$ 1220 which constitutes only 12% of the total amount required to build the house, finishings and basic furniture.
During this time, we have been in close contact with the family in Ubaté in order to gather the documentation requested by the local authorities to grant the construction permit. While most of the documentation is responsibilty of the land owner, Pedalazos Que Construyen has been collaborating actively in the generation of the technical documents required. A civil engineer has been appointed by us to provide guidance and support as needed.
We have also learnt that the land is actually owned by multiple members of the familiy which introduces some additional complexity in the process. Nevertheless, the construction plan was generated with the support of our allied foundation Un Techo Para Colombia and we have already identified potential providers of construction materials and transportation services.
In the following weeks we expect to continue progressing with the licensing process and we will start a new round of promotion aiming to obtain additional funds for the project. Once the regulatory requirements are cleared we will proceed with the construction as we have received some direct local donations from sympathizers of our cause.
The funds received so far are safely deposited in our corporate bank accounts, duly registered under supervised accounting procedures.
The end of 2021 was not easy for Wilfran´s family. The pandemic impacted some members of the family and they had to face the associated challenges. We are all optimistic and hope that their new house will be reality in the upcoming months. We wil be providing periodic updates and we deeply thank you for your support.
Best regards
