The 19th PeacePlayers International – South Africa City-Wide Tournament
PeacePlayers International will unite more than 1,000 students from 7 different areas of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa for an all-day City-Wide Tournament. Each team is composed of a combination of children from each of the 7 different urban, township, and rural areas. The tournament creates a rare atmosphere where kids from various backgrounds get a chance to play together in a safe environment.
Anthony Perry, a volunteer at this past spring’s tournament was particularly touched by the day’s events:
“The lasting impact, or kick start, was that these kids were able to see more than what is inside their walls; there is so much more out there, beyond their community. Yet no matter the differences, if you work hard and are open to new ideas and people, you will accomplish your goals. It was incredible to be here.”
